Getting A Pair Of Shoes That Fit You Well

Here is a common situation that we all have encountered.
You return from the shoe store exicted to try on your
new shoes. They were a perfect match while you strutted
your stuff around the shoe store. However, they
feel like different shoes now. They feel cramped and your
feet hurt. How many times has this happened to you?
Don't lie. It probably has happened after more then one
trip to the shoe store.
How could something like this happen? How is it that
shoes can fit so well in the store, but once we take them
home they magically turn into a size too small? There
are a few things that can cause this shoe fiasco. There
are precautions you can take when searching for shoes that
will allow you to purchase shoes that fit both in the
store and at home.
Let's look at running shoes for walking, hiking, and
playing sports. Shoes like these will fit differently
then shoes you would casually every day or for your job.
Running and athletic shoes usually are half to one size
bigger then your everyday casual shoes. So when you
purchase these shoes go a little bigger then your regular
size. Don't even theorize that a tight fitting
athletic shoe will stretch out because they just don't.
Trying on shoes involves walking around the soft carpet in
the shoe store? This is not an accurate representation
of actual walking situations. Therefore, it is hard to
make a good decision about the shoe fit. You need to try
the shoes on the surfaces you will walk on. For instance,
let's say that you are going to run in the street then you
should test the shoes in the street. If the shoe store
won't let you try on the shoes in other areas or surfaces
then go to another store that is more accomodating.
The toes and heel are critical. Your toes should fit
inside the shoes snugly, but they should not be jammed up
inside. As for the heel, you do not want it sliding about
inside the shoe as this can lead to injury.
A great way to find good fitting shoes is to bring an old
pair of shoes with you. You don't need to bring your comfy
shoes, but instead bring shoes that didn't fit right. This
will allow the sales person to steer you away from the
wrong shoes.
Did you know that your feet swell up by the afternoon? The
pressure of walking, standing, and just being awake cause
your feet to expand up to a half size larger then your
normal shoe size. It is a good idea to shop in the
afternoon when your feet are bigger.
Avoid the hassle of paying hard earned money for shoes that
don't fit, by following these tips. Engaging in these tips
when buying your shoes will improve your odds of finding
shoes that are a perfect fit at the shoe store and at home.
Shoes that don't fit will become a thing of the past.
